Canus Body Butter / B000FKGSI8
It's difficult for me to rate the Canus products, since they seem to be a mixed bag for me - the soap works wonderfully for my skin, but the moisturizing lotion makes my skin painfully dry and breaks me out into a rash! This body butter...is also something of a mixed bag.
The good news is, the Canus body butter works great for "tough" areas where body butter is traditionally applied, like elbows and feet. I go barefoot everywhere, and my feet can get pretty dry and painful, so I use body butter on them every night before bed, and pull on socks to prevent it rubbing off while I sleep. This body butter works wonderfully on my feet. The butter is extremely soft and easy to apply - unlike past varieties I've used which had to be practically ground into the skin. And although many reviewers mentioned disliking the smell, I absolutely love it - it's a warm, creamy, clean smell that makes me think of fresh milk and soft summer cotton. I feel the smell is fairly subtle - no one has mentioned smelling the new smell, and people often comment on my "pretty perfume" (hair conditioner and baby lotion, usually). It takes all kinds, I guess.
The only real downside is that my more sensitive skin areas seem to be allergic to something in the Canus butters and lotions. The Canus lotion actually caused me to break out into a very painful rash the first time I used it. This body butter hasn't actually caused a rash, but when I've tried to apply it to "sensitive skin" areas, it's exacerbated existing problems like bug bites and ingrown hairs, and caused increased pain and itching. As long as I confine this butter to my feet and elbows, I seem to be fine. Since that's what I bought it for, I suppose I'll keep using it, but I'm disappointed that the butter disagrees with my non-"tough" areas, and I remain mildly concerned about applying something I seem to have an allergy to. + See Full Customer Review |  |
